SnowMyScreen Support & Setup for Mac
Start with the menu bar icon. The settings window is where you choose themes, adjust motion, import images and control decorative lights.
Getting started
Download through the Mac App Store, launch the app and open its menu bar icon. In settings, enable Weather effects and choose a theme. You do not need to keep the settings window open.
I cannot see an effect
Check that Weather effects is enabled and the app is running. Try Full screen and Over the content placement. Desktop only effects sit behind your windows, so a maximized window can hide them. Increase intensity if the effect is too subtle.
Importing custom artwork
Choose Add your image and import a PNG. The limit is 10 images, with a maximum of 5 MB and 1024 × 1024 pixels per image. Transparent backgrounds give clean edges. Choose motion like snow, leaves or rain.
Controlling lights separately
Open the garland settings and choose the menu bar, Dock or both. Garlands and weather effects are independent, so you can use lights on their own.
Turning off automatic launch
Use the launch-at-login setting to choose whether the app opens when you sign in. Quit the app from its menu bar controls.
